FOREST LAKE ACADEMY ANNOUNCES NEW PRINCIPAL AND VICE PRINCIPAL

Florida Conference proudly announces the new principal team at Forest Lake Academy: Principal Frank L. Jones III and Vice Principal Myrna Candelaria.
Jones served the academy as vice principal since 2012. He comes to this position with 43 years of effective educational leadership experience with service as Superintendent of Education at Southwest Regional Conference, Educational Resource Consultant and Headmaster at South Atlantic Conference, and numerous other positions including principal, registrar, counselor, and teacher.
“Education is about having growth occur wherever, whenever, and however possible,” Jones states. “Education is as vast as the ocean. Schools are responsible for ensuring every child has an opportunity to rise with the highest tide while meeting educational, social, and personal success.”
Candelaria will serve as Vice Principal for Curriculum and Teacher Development. After teaching for 33 years in the Adventist educational system,
she became part of the campus family last year as a principal intern through the Advancement for Christian Education Academy’s Aspiring Principals Program sponsored by the Bainum Family Foundation.
“I am honored that God has called me to the ministry of education,” Candelaria says. “It is my greatest desire to serve His youth in providing them with the opportunities, knowledge, and skills that will facilitate their walk with Him and their service to others.”
“We searched prayerfully and carefully for the leaders who would continue to guide this large, thriving school on the right path,” says Frank Runnels, Florida Conference Vice President for Education. “We are convinced we have found just the right match for our campus.”
Florida Conference and the Office of Education look forward to the continued progress of Forest Lake Academy under these two new leaders.
