HISPANIC CHURCHES BAPTIZE 489 NEW MEMBERS

by Natalia López-Thismón
The Caravan of Victory evangelistic series, held at nearly 100 Hispanic churches across the state of Florida, culminated with 489 baptisms. Over the course of four weekends in May, each church held 11 meetings based on the book, Steps To Christ, presented by 270 speakers—most of whom were lay members.
“I consider the campaign a true victory, because many lay members who had never preached before brought so many souls to the feet of Christ,” said Florida Conference Evangelist Rolando de los Ríos who organized the meetings with the Spanish-language Ministries Department.
The Caravan of Victory series was part of a 2012 evangelistic plan for Florida Conference Hispanic Churches. This sequential campaign to prepare people for Christ’s second coming continued in the churches during June and July with the study of prophetic final events. Small group Bible studies follow on the campaign’s schedule from August through October. A Florida Net 2012 reaping series in Miami, to be held November 3-10, will culminate the year’s evangelistic plan with Rolando de los Ríos speaking for the Esperanza TV broadcasts on the Hope Channel Network.
Selected churches broadcast the Caravan of Victory programs on the internet, making the meetings available for national and international audiences. During the closing program alone, organizers reported approximately 200 baptisms. Three of the baptisms were shared live via Skype to participating churches and internet viewers worldwide.
