INTERNATIONAL DAY CELEBRATED AT SILVER SPRINGS SHORES CHURCH

by Norma Henry
Silver Springs Shores Church, Ocala, Fla., celebrated International Day on June 15 with 29 nations represented in a Parade of Flags. The program focused on the population, climate, and growth of the Adventist Church in each of these countries.
Conrad Duncan, Florida Conference Vice President for Administration, was guest speaker for the Sabbath morning service. In his message, “From Guttermost To Uppermost,” he reflected that, as long as we call on God, even though things are in the worst stages in our lives, God will raise us up to the highest and spread us out on eagle’s wings.
The finale to the special day was a concert by Pan In Excelsis steel band, directed by Len Archer. Pan In Excelsis plays a repertoire of arranged hymns, contemporary gospel, and classical pieces. The group, which recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, brings the unique steel band sound of Trinidad and Tobago to Central Florida and beyond.
