Spring Time Means Camp Meeting in Florida

Spring time in Florida means Camp Meeting! People from all over the state as well as other areas of the country converged on Camp Kulaqua in High Springs, Florida, for an extended weekend of fellowship, spiritual renewal, and communing with nature.
The main speaker, Dr. Joseph Kidder, from the Theological Seminary at Andrews University, riveted attendees with his spell-binding revelations of growing up in Iraq and becoming an Adventist even through shunning, persecution, and personal pain. On Saturday evening, Florida Conference President, Allan Machado, presented a passionate discourse on Walking Together in Faith, Hope, and Love.
Seminars were given on topics such as: relationships, discipleship, prayer, and leadership. Children from beginners (Ages 0-4) up through junior high (Ages 13-14) participated in active programming throughout each day.
Youth and Young Adults held worship services as well as an active program with such things as a nature scavenger hunt. New this year was a Volleyball Tournament with seven churches sending teams: Altamonte, Palm Coast, Forest Lake, NCC Ignite, Bradenton, Orlando Central, and Gainesville. Orlando Central team became the champions.
Walking trails flow through the Camp especially along Hornsby Spring. Visits could, also, be made to the zoo on Sabbath afternoon. On Sunday afternoon, families were encouraged to take advantage of all the Camp had to offer: go-carts, horse and pony rides, canoes, putt-putt golf, field games, and Tower of Faith.
