WESTCHESTER SPANISH CHURCH BURNS MORTGAGE
by Elio Hernandez
After 25 years of sacrifice and God’s mercies, members of the Westchester Spanish Church, Miami, Fla., completed payment of their church mortgage and the release of such debt, which included the original mortgage and an extra loan for the addition completed years ago. The May 18 celebration included burning of the mortgage and dedication of the church.
“On behalf of Florida Conference and the beloved congregation of Westchester, we declare this house of prayer, this church, the property of the Almighty God,” stated José LeGrand, Executive Secretary of the Florida Conference Association.
Pastor Daniel Amich, who guided the 900-member church during the past ten years, presided over the ceremony. Orlando Lopez Sr. is the new senior pastor, and Freddy Rodriguez is associate pastor.
